RUGGERBUGS is a FUN and exciting Pre-School Sports Development Programme based around non-contact rugby for girls and boys, aged 18 months to Six years.
It is designed to promote a positive introduction into sport by developing and enhancing your child’s basic level of movement, self-awareness and social interaction, as well as introductions into the basic fundamentals of Rugby (passing and catching) in a FUN and stimulating indoor environment.
Established in early 2007, RUGGERBUGS has been innovative (as seen in Rugby World Magazine, November 2008) in developing this toddler activity and is now one of the leading companies in this field and the first to establish close associations with local rugby clubs to ensure that your child can move into mini / junior rugby with ease.
It’s unique “Head Start” ™Programme is a structured physical play programme that assists with your child’s Early Years Foundation Stage Development by incorporating fundamental skills through “Running, Jumping, Catching and Throwing” games.
Valuable life skills (communication, listening, sharing, taking turns and teamwork) are gently introduced and developed throughout the programme ensuring your child not only benefits from increased stamina, but also confidence and self-esteem, all of which are vital for a healthy lifestyle.
RUGGERBUGS delivers it’s informal yet professional programme through the use of a rugby ball. It’s range of rugby inspired skills, drills and games provide a “Head Start”™ into the wonderful game by not only equipping your child with the basic skills that they can go onto develop at school or club level but also evoking a great sense of discipline and camaraderie.
RUGGERBUGS is different from other organisations because it agrees with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) that rugby is a late developing sport. It does not teach your child how to play rugby but gives them “Head Start”™ and promotes the game at grass roots level.
Whilst actively promoting grass roots rugby for boys and girls, and it’s results are amazing, it also recognises that rugby may not be for everyone, so the physical and social skills it promotes also transfer into sports such as Netball, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Tennis and many more.
RUGGERBUGS is an innovative and unique family business working closely with you to ensure your child receives the best playing experience.
